ABOUT US

BASTION (she/they) was recently patched in and is already causing problems. A deceptively basic nerd with a horrid sense of humor and a vocabulary swollen to bursting purely for the sake of puns. She has been bouncing from system to system for many years, online and IRL, with a slight bias towards sci-fi and superhero genres because she has a type. Thrilled to fill empty seats at a table and wrench the narrative in strange and interesting new directions, Bea will continue her wandering trek across the RPG landscape. Imaginative, sometimes. Obstreperous, also. Not terrifically experienced as a GM, but maybe someday she’ll get there. Goes all out on weird builds. Miserably sticks to them despite results. Sarcastic. Going to pay for it eventually. First RPG: Maid.

GRINT (he/him) was born up in suburban small town Massachusetts, but has lived in and outside of Washington DC for the greater part of his adult life. He says Y’all now! He was raised on a diet of video games and fantasy books, and an assortment of Firesign Theater and George Carlin albums played by his dad. His first RPG experience was in High School, when the consuming serpent of D&D 3ed OGL wrapped its coils around the world. Since then he’s tried a whole variety of systems, from Old World of Darkness to Lasers and Feelings, Fiasco to Forsooth! He loves touching the stove narratively, and hearing folks go off about their interests. He really likes collecting art books and collections of old comics, and he has a real soft spot for Edward Gorey. Homestar Runner permanently molded his brain. Lives with a big fluffy cat named Winston, who you should assume is always within reach or is biting Grint’s ankles. First RPG: D&D 3e. All Time Favorite Band: TMBG

You can follow his occasional posting at https://cohost.org/GreenIntern and on Bluesky.

JESS (she/it) is a transgender woman from the east coast of the US. She’s been playing tabletop games since college, got bit by the GM bug fairly early on in the experience and has been happily doomed by that development ever since. Jess previously used to write RPG reviews for FATAL & Friends, wrote a Delta Green Shotgun Scenario that tied for first, dabbled in strange homebrew, and likes talking shop about mechanics and the greater tabletop hobby. She loves improv, cooking, making bad posts, Solitaire, cloudy drizzly days, weird cinema and living her best life. First RPG: Maid.

LAVENDER (fae/faer) is a nonbinary somethingoranother from the forests and mountains of Appalachia. Growing up on the D&D Computer Labyrinth board game and several books from the first few editions, faer first actual serious attempt at playing came by trying to run a game in a high school theater, which promptly scared faer away from the hobby for good. (Or a couple years, either or.) Fae’s always interested in the esoteric and the eclectic in terms of games, and will give just about everything a go once, from TTRPGs to obscure old video games to weird personal text adventures dredged out of old forums. Fae collects tarot decks and owns entirely too many books. First RPG: D&D 3E. Fursona: Chocobo (red).

Lav can be found posting at https://cohost.org/Lavender-Fae and less often at lavendermidnight.bsky.social.

SOPHIE (she/her) was born in King of the Hill country, but has lived in the Rio Grande Valley most of her life. As a kid she read the 100+ page manuals of Civilization II and Alpha Centauri for fun, and wrote fanfic for Creatures 2. The first time she saw the Dark Crystal was at 2am when she was ten years old. She’s read the Lord of the Rings seven times, and the Silmarillion twice. Probably all these things have shaped her narrative and character tastes somehow or other. She was part of a One Piece RP forum, and she played D&D once, but otherwise her roleplaying experience pre-Coffin Club is limited. She likes playing characters who cause problems on purpose and on accident.
